Monthly Archives: November 2011

Welcome

Ferment the World is a homebrewers meetup, similar to a club but less formal. Our sole purpose is to share and connect with other homebrewers. Whether you are curious, new, or a pro at homebrewing, join us to meet up with, learn from, share tips with, and in general hang out with other brewers in the area! We usually meet the first Monday of each month at the second floor of Harvest Moon in New Brunswick, NJ 08901. As always, we thank Harvest Moon for providing us this space for our meeting at no cost! If you’d like to help us show our appreciation, you can grab an appetizer, dinner, dessert, or drinks from the wait staff.

Harvest Moon Celebrates Anniversary of Ferment the World (njbeer.org)

The second annual “Fall Harvest” Beer Dinner at Harvest Moon Brewery & Cafe is sold out. The event takes place on Thursday, November 3. It is serving as both their fall beer dinner and a celebration of the one year anniversary of their Ferment the World hombrew meetings (check out fermenttheworld.com for more info on the meetings). Keep your eyes open for another Harvest Moon beer dinner sometime in February or March.

The second week of November will see the return of Harvest Moon Nut Brown to the taps. It will be followed by the Black ‘O Lantern Pumpkin Stout just in time for Thanksgiving.

Kane Brewing

The newest brewery in New Jersey will be holding their first New Brunswick event at the George Street Ale House on Wednesday, November 16th! They will have three of their beers, and as some members of FTW can attest, they are definitely worth trying! See their Facebook page for more details – just search for “Kane Brewing Company” once you are logged in.

Love2Brew

There is a new homebrew supply store in town! Love2Brew is located at the end of Livingston Ave. in North Brunswick, NJ. They just opened up this month, and have a great selection of hops, grains, and equipment. Note that GPS and Google Maps will send you down the wrong road if you map 1583 Livingston Ave. Just go all the way up (from New Brunswick) and when you hit the light that tells you to go right or straight for Rt. 1, keep going! You’ll find them up on your left, past the self-storage place.
